DBL International Challenge 2012


After three consecutive years organized an international exhibition match student level, PT. Detection Basketball Cross (DBL) Indonesia starting this year held DBL International Challenge 2012, a basketball tournament with contestants among students of four countries that will run from November 2 to 4 at the DBL Arena Surabaya future.

As host, the Indonesian team will be represented by men and women students in the team DBL Indonesia All-Star 2012. They are the players that have been filtered selection of the greatest high school basketball league organization in Indonesia, Honda Development Basketball League (DBL) 2012, which was held in 23 cities, 20 provinces.

Ambassador of the country's best will compete with the ability of boys and girls teams Gold Coast Junior All-Stars who represented Australia. Singapore just sent a team of men, represented by the Siglap Basketball Club, while Malaysia was represented by a team of women from Main Bandar Damansara 3 High School.

DBL International Challenge was held with a round robin format. Three teams of male and female categories will cross paths. The team finished as group winners will be crowned as the new champion of the tournament was first held by PT. DBL Indonesia.

"This competition is an evolution of the four countries of the events that we held before. Besides giving experience to young players competes, the event is also an event to contact people-to-people that can benefit all. Surabaya became more known as the basketball capital of Indonesia, while other countries also became more familiar with Indonesia. It's hard to imagine how much potential growth of this event in the future, "said Azrul Ananda, director of PT Indonesia DBL, DBL Commissioner.

Some of the teams that will compete in the tournament already could not wait to feel the atmosphere of the competition. One son and daughter team satania Gold Coast Junior All-Stars.

Junior men's team Gold Coast All-Stars will perform with the best power. Included are reinforced by team captain Zachariah "Snowy" Frankland, a player who appeared as the top scorer in the face of DBL Indonesia All Star team in an exhibition game last year. This team is handled by Mick Conlon, a former assistant coach of the Gold Coast Blaze (NBL one professional team of Australia). While the women's team Gold Coast Junior All-Star still relies on seven of the 12 players who appeared last year. As people age, their ability is certainly more mature.

"Our goal is certainly to try to win all matches. However, the primary objective is to provide an unforgettable experience to all our players, "said Allan Hilzinger, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Coast City Regional Basketball Association. "We've done basketball cooperation with various countries in Asia such as China (China), Japan and Korea. But honestly I say if a competition held by DBL Indonesia is the most professional. We get a variety of fantastic experience while here. Opportunity to participate in the tournament would be so we're looking forward to, "said Allan.

For the All-Star team DBL Indonesia, the presence of such events is extremely useful before leaving for Seattle, United States on 6 November. There they will learn and play against a young basketball team from Seattle. Tim DBL Indonesia All-Star 2012 is scheduled to be in the United States until 14 November.
