Israeli artist and designer Ron Arad creates an unusual art project by crushing real Fiat 500 cars. In the words of Ron Arad, he is not destroying the cars, but “immortalizing them”. During his exhibition ‘In Reverse’, 6 of his real crushed cars have been installed in the Holon Design Museum in Tel Aviv. The two dimensional Fiat 500 cars are mounted to the walls of the gallery like paintings. They were created by scanning the car, then dissecting the scan into slices to make the mould. The stunning laser cut steel components are made amazingly by machine, before they are assembled into the final sculpture. Take a look at Fiat 500s Crushed Into 2d Art pictures by Ron Arad.
