A Unique Peacock Spider

Peacock Spider or Maratus Volans, lives in several Australian states. It’s no wonder so named because of the similarity of the famous bird seems too obvious. Actually, literally, Maratus Volans sounds like a flying spider. Entomologist Jurgen Otto who moved to Sydney Australia argued that there is boring and almost nothing to photograph. Not yet met Maratus Volans. Now he thinks Spider-the most beautiful peacock in the world and certainly not going to leave the green continent. A similar color is peculiar only to males and females look bleak. Color flap males use in the mating season to attract the attention of females, as well as save your life in case of a possible infringement of the bird and insect. To attract females, the male spider stands on two legs and dances your dance. If you do not like the female dance, a candidate can easily turn into dinner. At the end of the set, you can see a video about this unique arachnid. Photo by Flickr
