More than a century of existence, the company Pepsi has
undergone crises and ups. Support for drinks often helped advertising. And one
of the most famous advertising campaigns for brands were created during the
50's to the 60's of last century. Three strong and vibrant campaigns of those
years are still considered classics of advertising art: More Bounce to the
Ounce, The Light Refreshment and The Sociables.
The first was carried out from 1950 to 1953. Ever since the
30s Pepsi brand actively compete with Coca-Cola, and advertisers have come up
with an interesting marketing move: they decided to sell Pepsi drink for the
same price as its competitors, but in bottles of twice. With campaign More
Bounce to the Ounce producers hoped to draw consumers' attention to the
favorable value for money product.
The second ad campaign unfolded from 1954 to 1959 and was
aimed at the conquest of the young audience and then, in 1959, left the
campaign The Sociables, that bombshell. Its slogans were reduced to that
sociable people prefer Pepsi. The posters depict gay people and stylish parties
and the drink was served to them almost as a drug that can make any introvert
soul of the company.
